I ran a wire directly from the battery to the relay and used the stock coil supply wire as the signal to activate the relay.

With an inline fuse, please.

Thanks Bean, I'll get some of those relays.  They look more suitable than the stuff from Autozone.

Andy, I'll be drawing power from a power block with individual fused circuits.
