Hi All,

I bought a Givi Wingrack years ago and am finally just now getting around to installing it for a long trip.  Problem is that I can't find the instructions and am looking to see if there is anything online but can't come up with anything.  Does anyone know if there is a download out there that might help me?  Any help appreciated. -Mark

AHH FOUND IT!  There's a thread right on this site that has instructions and a couple of photo's.  Love this place! :good2:

Mark,

The rear support for the Wingrack on the subframe is the indicator bracket. This isn't a good idea as this is weak and failed on my older FJ. I strengthening the support with a strap of steel round the frame tube.

Hey thanks all.  That thing bolted up pretty easily once you see how it all fits together.  Hopefully my welds are good enough to prevent future cracking on the signal mounts.  But the wing rack has a lot more support than the mono rack so they should be under less stress(I hope).

The only thing I'm not crazy about is how the long bolts through the u-clamps protrude a little too much in either direction.  So you either have to cut some of the tool box plastic for them to clear or put the bolts in nut-side-out and cut them down when you get it all tightened up.  I'll have to figure out which direction I want to go there.

Can't you cut the bolt before you assemble?

Live hardy, or go home.

I could but I think I just assume bolt it up tight and then hit it with a grinder/cutter.  I can always reverse it after that.
