Replacing Fairing Stay FJ1100

OK so I now have a new fairing stay for the front which holds the blinkers on after one of them snapped off on our trip last year.

I've tried to get the front fairing to bits before to see if the fuel light globe was blown but don't know where to start.  I have a factory manual as well and from memory it was very little help.

How many bolts do I have to undo, and how much of the front of the bike do I have to pull off in order to replace part #40 in this pic:

Half a dozen step by step removals to get me started would be great.

Looks like an 1100.  If so, 6 bolts hold the fairing on.
Upper left side bolt #21, upper right side #14, on the botton of the fairing 2 #14 bolts, and 1 #8 bolt on each side of the fairing hidden by #22  and #23 covers.

Undo the speedo cable, it also helps if you remove the tank.  Don't forget the headlight adjuster and the 2 connectors.
