Petcock Outlet Elbow Pulled Out of Petcock - Is There a Fix?

Hi:

When I took my fuel tank loose yesterday to clean my bike up, the petcock's elbow pulled out of the petcock's body, see below. I'm a little puzzled on how it goes back together. Can anyone offer any insight as to how to re-install the elbow so it doesn't leak or come loose again?

Thanks.

You're not the first this has happened to. Be glad you wasn't riding it.

Holy CRAP!!!! You just avoided the dreaded flaming bike disease. There has been many 'O' conversation of this exact problem with some stories of a few beloved FJ's going up in a ball of fire. http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=3265.msg27126#msg27126
I did mine with safety wire and epoxy paste. It is free from this affliction.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Yes, good thing that it didn't happen when it was running, but I'm a little ways from having my FJ running. Thanks for the old posts. Will apply the fix along with a lot of other maintenance work and repairs.

clean everything up with contact cleaner and re-assemble with JB weld.
