OK, so I've had the bike for about 5 years but it looks and feels like a new bike to me. This is the fruit of this past winter. A new paint job and a long list of minor issues taken care of. The picture was taken in overcast light so the color is kind of dull. As soon as I get a chance and its sunny I'll get some better pics. I'm still debating some decals of some sort, I don't know. Also I'm wondering about some kind of extention on the front fender to stop the sand blasting of the chin fairing. Anybody got any ideas? Boy, I love this bike. They'll have to bury it next to me.

I also painted mine solid blue, but it looked incomplete, so I added a Yamaha round logo to the gas tank.  I think it makes it looks more 'finished'.

Hey, I like that color.   What color match did you use? I used a 08 Lexus color to match. Two part epoxy primer, color, and four coats of clear. I still have yet to wax or polish it. That decal on your tank looks good. Where did you pick it up at? Damn, you have changed some things around on your FJ. That whole front end is trick! And the swing arm! You've been busy.

The blue looks great but I think bob is right that you need to add something to finish it off, anyways it looks a heaps better than my old girl.

There is a clear plastic laminate type material you can buy and cut to a desired shape that sticks to whatever surface you desire.  Do it well no one will notice and when it gets beat up just replace.

I'd personally like to figure out some kind of carbon-fiber solution. THAT would be trick. Expensive but cool.

A local shop did a color match to the Givi lids.  I did the prep... lots of sanding, but they did all the real work.   

That decal on your tank looks good. Where did you pick it up at?

I found the logo on eBay three years ago.  Sorry I don't have more details.

I bought the parts from Jon Jarosz.  His tricked out 'Black Sunshine' FJ was featured in Cycle Canada a couple of times.  He did a lot of work, eventually adding a super charger.  When he blew the top end he decided to part out the bike.  An overseas buyer agreed to purchase the swingarm and front end.  Jon held on to the parts for a few extra days after getting the money order, which turned out to be a forgery.  He was really pissed and offered the parts on the old FJ mailing list at rock bottom prices; that's when I bought them.

The front end is chromed, from a GSXR 1100, with a PM wheel.  It originally had one PM caliper on the right side.  I wanted to add one to the left, but it's a discontinued model and I could not find a match.  Eventually, I replaced it with a pair of Harrison Billet six pot calipers (http://www.billet.co.uk).   They work great, but need to be kept really clean or they'll stick and warp the rotors.  DAMHIK.  I also replaced the GSXR clipons with an LSL bar kit (http://www.spieglerusa.com/cfm/sbk.cfm) and added heated grips. 

The swingarm is from JMC with both a top and bottom brace (http://www.swingarm.com).  It's 4" longer than stock, so I had to do some cosmetic surgery on the rear fender.  It has a solid PM wheel and a PM caliper ... the only part on the bike that needs SAE tools ;-).  The Sprocket Specialties 49-tooth rear sprocket took some getting used to; I'm running with an 18 tooth front.

Stadium Suspension in Montreal provided the custom sized shock (http://www.stadiumsuspension.com).  I got it when we did a group buy a few years ago. Highly recommend if  you're looking for a new shock, and they have FJ specs on file (well, they should have them on file).

A friend has a stock '93.  We traded bikes last year during a ride.  What a difference.  My FJ is now a very different bike.

Bob, your mirrors don't look stock. They look better and look long enough at the stem to see behind you.  I just put on a set of Honda CBX mirrors--they're better than stock for rear view , but I'm looking for some thing better.  What mirrors are on your bike? and how do you like them?
