Stainless steel brake lines

I would like to put stainless brake lines on my '91. I know Galfer makes a set. Are there any other options? Is it possible to get lines and fittings and put them together yourself? I remember back in '85 doing that but haven't looked at buying them like that since.

Thanks

Rick

Rick,

You may be able to get the lines made up for you at any hydraulic hose shop cheaper than any of the 'name' brand (Russell, Goodrich, Galfer, Braking, EBC, etc) sets.  The best and cheapest way to do this is to run a 2 line system direct from the master cylinder to each of the calipers, bypassing the splitter.  You can take the double height banjo from the splitter to use at the master.
BTW  Either get new sealing washers or anneal the old ones by heating to cheery red and quenching in cold water.

Cheers,
Arnie

My local shop quoted half the price of a kit to just measure and make them for me, and that was including the labour.
