need information on a tsubaki 530 hqr solid roller chain. how does it hold up on a 1986 fj1200?

Pat Conlon

Wrong tool for the job.
The HQR is plenty strong enough at 10,600 lbs. tensile strength, but it is not a O ring chain.
Question: How far can you go on a tank of gas on your '86? 180-200 miles?
You will be needing to lube this chain every time you stop for gas, possibly sooner.
For track duty, a roller chain is fine, you can lube it between 20 lap sessions.

You want a O ring chain for the street. HTH   http://tsubakimoto.com/products/chain/drive_chain/motorcycle_chain.html

After reading Andy's horror stories a few weeks ago about broken chains and engine cases I began to shop in for a stronger chain. I got lucky and snagged a EK-ZZZ 120c a few weeks ago for $99.99 + $8.00 shipping on eBay. Any body need a BikeMaster O-ring chain with only 400 miles on it?

What are you saying? it's not good enough for your bike but it's okay for ours?
