What an interesting Christmas.

My youngest son was king hit in the face on Thursday morning.......has a fracture of the lh eye socket, 2 fractures of lh cheek bone and a fracture of rh cheek bone.
Then on boxing day, my eldest son crashed his car when a driver coming in the opposite direction crossed double lines and had a head on into the car that my son was behind........ of course it was raining and he had nowhere to go........ clipped the side of the car that was in front of him trying to avoid the whole thing........ my youngest was in the car too!......
Anyway, they are both ok as a result of that one, but the car is not too good.
And to top it off, the spare car decided that boxing day would be a good time for the water pump to shit itself.
So at the moment the FJ is the only transport in my house.

And of course, there are no motor parts shops open until tomorrow, so I have the car in bits and can't put it back together until I can get a new water pump.

Youngest is off to hospital tomorrow to see if he needs surgery, as they had to wait for the swelling to go down b4 making a decision on that score.......

Bring on the New Year!

On the plus side, looks like the Penske 8987 is a goer and will be heading to Traxxion in the new year for mods.
I picked up a new leather jacket for under $100 on eBay.
The vibranators are on their way.

Hope you all had a slightly better Christmas than mine has been.

Cheers all

Harvy,
Good to hear they're all mostly OK, curious how bad things stack up like that. Stay strong and best wishes to your son for a quick recovery!

Lotsokids

Harvy, that's a real bummer! Sorry to hear of all the drama. :shok:
Reminds me of when we moved here to Hungary. The week prior, ALL my vehicles broke down. Even the charging system went to crap on my V-Max (bad stator) and the other 2 vehicles had to go to the shop for ignition failures. It was sad because I'm a mechanic, but because of school and moving I couldn't even fix my own vehicles! As we left for the airport, our car was still in the shop and I had to just sign the title over to a friend.

Somtimes when it rains it pours. Just hang on. It will get better! It could always be worse! :empathy3:

Harvy,

Strange, I was worried all you Queenslanders were treading water trying to keep above the rising flood, and instead you go and have your family get into punch-ups and break all the motor vehicles.
Hope this takes care of all the hassles for the next year for you.

Best to y'all.  Hope you have a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Hey Harvy, Now understand why you were sleeping in this morning. Bastards. Hope all goes well with the medico`s. (I got a dry car if ya need it) -I just woke up to the smell of smoke in the kitchen. The  appliance cupboard roller door turned on the toaster when daughter closed it an hour ago. - and I hadn`t renewed the house insurance. (Tried to 6 hrs beforehand but they were closed.) A close call - amazing how quick a bend in the road can turn up. Hope you manage to lean into yours with a great 2011.

Sucks Harvey.  As lotsokids says though, it could be much worse, glad it was not, hope it all works out.

After a week like that, you deserve at least a year of clear sailing.  Hope your son is OK.

Thanks for all the support from FJ land!   :hi:

Young bloke is having surgery this morning to plate his face, looks like new years eve celebrations are out for him this year.....plenty more to come though.

Pulled the car apart yesterday and replaced the water pump, so its back on the road. Still waiting on the eldest sons car to be assessed etc, but it should not be a problem, and he can continue to drive mine and I can get about on the FJ.........which is good now that its stopped raining.   :yahoo:

Hope all that snow you folks are sitting in up north is not causing too many problems.

Dave......... loosing a favourite car.....not good mate..... were you at the wheel at the time?

Too all a great new year!

Cheers
