motohorseman here.

Rider for 30+ years, own a 1989 FL1200W now, have for the past several months.

I do all my own wrenching, hope to keep this bike for several years, and the only mod I'm planning is a set of handlebar risers.

Like many of you, I've owned so many motorcycles in the past I can not name them all.

Always wanted a FJ, now it is that phase of my motorcycling experience.

I'm off to poke around your threads to try and not duplicate what's already been covered.

Like many of you, I've owned so many motorcycles in the past I can not name them all.

A few of us found the FJ early on and knew it was a keeper.

My short list of bikes I've owned over the last 40 years:
1968 Yamaha YL2-C 100cc enduro (used)
1971 Yamaha DT-250 (used)
1972 Hodaka B+ 100cc (new)
1974 Yamaha 360MX (new)
1978 Yamaha XS-750 (new)
1982 Yamaha XJ1100 (new)
1985 Yamaha FJ1100 (new)
1993 Yamaha FJ1200 (used)
2002 Yamaha FZ1 (used)

Still own the last 3 on the list.  I guess you can call me a Yamaha man.
On a sad note, my (mechanically) pristine 1996 Dodge Avenger got T-boned 2 days before Xmas and is probably totaled.  I'm really going to miss that car.

Welcome aboard,

That sucks. Dangerous time of year these holidays. Hopefully you're OK?

Sorry to hijack the intro thread.

Yeah, it happened outside a mall.  I knew I should have just gone straight and avoided the area.  My ribs are a little sore from bouncing off the center console, but nothing serious.  My son was in the passenger seat, which is the side that was hit, and he's fine.  Ends up that it doesn't take too much damage to total a 15 year old car.  Replacing the rear quarter panel is quite expensive
