Hello all.  I bought my '89 FJ1200 from a guy who owns about 30 motorcycles in his garage.  He'd lent the bike to me two years ago, as my sidecar was out of commission and I wanted to continue my participation in the Philadelphia Pediatric Brain Tumor Ride For Kids.  The bike has 40+K miles on it and has been significantly modified in order to attach a SideBike Comanche sidecar.  I loved it the first time I saw him with it and made him promise if he was ever looking to sell it, I wanted right of first refusal.

Unfortunately, it's currently out of service as the choke cable seems to be bound up inside.  I've looked through the Yamaha Service Manual (FJ1100-1200 [L-E]) but can't find a part number and searching online for it has become tiresome since I can't even find an exploded-view with the choke cable listed.  I've even tried to download the parts fiche from this site, but am having difficulty - I'll probably have to try downloading it from work and transferring it to thumb drive for transfer onto this computer.

If anyone knows the part number and where I might be able to purchase it, that would be much appreciated.

Nice to know there's a forum of like-minded FJ owners.

Don't know what parts you need?  Then you need to look it up on one of these places:

Yamaha's offical parts catalog
MRCycle's parts catalog (copy of Yamaha's fiche)
Bellflower's parts catalog (copy of Yamaha's fiche)

Oh, and if you're trying to use parts from a junkyard, there is a fische that includes reverse application lookups in a lovely, easy to use way here.

Using the reverse lookup tool, that part number is shared between all 86-93 FJ1200's.
