Starter mount and Bolts?

Okay so i got this bike and tore it completly apart(no pics sorry so ill explain as best as i can)
Have an 87 fj1200

I got to the part to take the starter off and when i did there where no bolts or mount or anything holding it in?

There were 2 peices of flat flexable metal wrapped it around it in 2 different positions holding it in, im suprised it would actually start up with it like that!

But im having troubles trying to figure out if there is a starter mount?

Anyone help me with this?

apon looking at that site, for the starter, i am guessing that i need bolts 8 and 10....which are both obsolete so what do i do now? ive actually seen 3 sites like this.

That's where we can help you.

1) Identify exactly what you need, and then post a request for help.

2) Once we know which bolts you're talking about, if needed, we can help you ID the diameter, thread and length of the bolts.

I would bet a jelly donut that out of the 1351 members of this FJ forum, at least 30 members has a box of bolts in their garage with your bolts in it.

heck im sure feldmans would have it to if i could just figure out length, thread size and all.

well what im exactly needing is the starter mounting bolts, i have no idea what these look like really cause the starter never had them
also idk if there is a starter mount either or not. but if so i need to get one of those also.

so if anyoen could help me figure oput diameter, thread and length of these that would be great!

also while im on here does anyone know some of the cheapest online stores to buy yamaha parts? thanks!

On most "common" bolts, the size information is in the bolt part number.

For example the #10 bolt in the diagram has a part number: 95026-06025-00

The 06025 indicates that it is an M6 thread and 25mm in length

2 of them are required.  Bolt #8 actually holds the starter body together.

Works for a majority of the bolts

but thats the problem, every site I go to only shows the part #8 on the diagram, and its no where to be found down below in the chart so I cant look for the part number in that information. so once again im screwed there =(

Use this link for parts look-up and you get the correct part #..... most online parts houses have changed the # so you can't use it at other stores.  Lots of other good info there, as well.

I got the part number for the #10 bolt off of the link that Harvy provided.  But use the Yamaha site that Rich provided above for most accurate info. 

According to my previous post, you need two M6x25mm bolts to hold the starter to the engine case.

upon further inspection of the starter motor and assembling it back onto the engine. i found out why its not bolted into the engine and why it was ghetto rigged in.

The casing where the bolts , bolt into to hold the starter is actually busted. Its missing the casing piece=/ looks like im gona ghetto rig it back up.
