Just wanted to let you guys know about a seller on eBay goes by the name "oldskoolcarbs". I purchased a set of rebuilt carbs from him for my '89. The set I received are from an 1100, i.e. two 8mm inlets(non fuel pump) instead of one 6mm inlet(with fuel pump). I made a tee set up to account for this. His claims are fairly promising, but I am always skeptical. This guy is the real deal.
I installed the carbs with new Yamaha fuel filter, proper lines(had clear tubing with lawn mower filter and zip ties) and air filter. What a difference! Bike starts on half choke cold, warms quickly and pulls cleanly. No surging at any speed and my first tank got me 212 miles out of 5.4 gallons, equals 39 mpg! I can't say enough.
If anyone needs carbs, find this guy and check to see if he has a set. You won't be disappointed.

Just a note on , Oldschoolcarbs,  I had him do a set of carbs for a CBX last summer and he did a great job.  They looked like new and he even sent me all the old screws and o rings he replaced.  He knows his carbs and was a big help getting the CBX running.   DCW
