This one was a long time in the pipes and the missus and I finally took off around Victoria in the last two weeks of October.

We delayed the start by a day because Cooma (the first morning) forecast was 9 and snow on Saturday, and we were on holidays :).  So 15 or so and sunny on Sunday was much nicer.  We did ACT -> NSW -> VIC -> SA -> VIC -> NSW -> ACT doing no roads twice and it was truly awesome.

Nearly 3000km in 9 days riding, with the biggest day being the first, ~440km into Lakes Entrance from Canberra.  Had two days off at different places too to relax and enjoy being on holidays.  We visited many other places, the Great Ocean Road was magnificent, the Black Spur was fun but would have been funner on something sportier with less luggage, and we saw lots and lots of magnificent sights and ate lots of wonderful food.  Who would have thought the culinary highlight would have been an Indian restaurant in Mt. Gambier :bow.

The only mechanical failure was a front blinker bracket, which I fixed with some gaffa tape and it held for the rest of the trip.  Oh and my choke cable needs a bit of attention as well.  There are nearly 500 photos, here's just a sample.  We had a great time, the focus was on riding most days but we really did eat well and see some beautiful parts of this country.  And we even managed to come back engaged...   :yahoo:

Glad to hear you had a great trip and returned safely. Some great pic's as well. That Nimmitabel bakery is hard to go past. I always feel the urge to stop there and sample one of their great pies. There's some awesome riding down this part of the country, both on and off-road.
Might catch-up with you along the track one day.   Cheers, Pete.
