Any chance we can increase the number of posts available under "Most Recent Posts" beyond the current ten pages? We've grown to a point where, if you miss a day or two, the only way to find the posts is to go directly to the thread or do a more complex search...unless I'm missing something, which is entirely possible.

Also, as a follow-on/ possible alternative to this, I wonder if there a way to increase the max # of posts per page to 20, or even 50.  Perhaps this could be a user preference?

I have seen this done elsewhere, and if it were 50/ page, and 10 pages, that'd be 500 posts, even a weeks vacation would not leaving you missing too many posts.

Just a thought,

Marsh did you see this, is this a possibility.

Just wondering.

Sorry, I just caught this topic tonight thanks to Dan's BUMP.  I spent over 2 solid hours on it tonight - I'm getting close but I have not been able to get it right just yet.  This is just a quick note to let you know that I'm on it and I definitely see the need for this.

Strangely enough - although I have found several other forum owners using this software ask about this VERY same issue - no one has been able to publically give a way to do it.  It is NOT an adjustable parameter in the Admin section.  The file that controls this function has over 1100 lines of code - and is VERY redundant and hard to understand - but I'm making progress.  I hope to figure it out soon.

Marsh,
I am not sure where you are on this issue, but I just wanted to add my request for a "unread" link for everytime someone logs on. They have this on FJ/FJR as well as a Legend car forum website which use the same SMF program.

I was out of town since early Thursday and see the most recent posts exceeds 100 and the "most recent post" capability.

Thanks, Randy
