Gooday guys, I am heading up to Brisbane via the east coast in a couple of weeks for a week up there and then heading back down going inland back to Melbourne. If anyone would like to catch up at any stage that would be great. I arrive in Melbourne on the spirit of tassie on 16th and will be leaving Brisbane on the 26th.

Gooday Colin,
I won't have the FJ finished by then but PM me and we will get together.
There are some good local rides just north of Brisbane near where I live.

I've often been asked, 'What do you old folks do now that you're retired'?

"Well. I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background, and one of the things I enjoy most is turning beer, wine, Scotch, and margaritas into urine."

Harvy

Colin, I'm 100Kms north of BrisVegas. Post up when you have a bit of free time while there.......I'll take run down and we can meet up.

Sydney mate, send me a pm and if you have time I can ride you up to PITS on the way out of Sydney, buy you  :morning1: and introduce you to the usual suspects (that's code for bums without a life who hang around bullshitting and the such but have enough petrol to keep their bikes going). I run my own business so any day is good.

but when it gets bad,
I take something for it.

Well my wife and I have just spent the last few hours riding with the young fella, rode through Sydney and had lunch at one of the local bike stops on the north side, all in all a good time.

He is seriously munching some miles and looked fit and well  :yahoo:

Gooday people, had a fantastic trip, many thanks to Dave and his wife for leading me through Sydney (that traffic is disgusting) and taking me to the "PITTS" for a bit of lunch and a drink and then showing me the way north, very nice FJ there Dave, when up in Brisbane i caught up Waricle who made me very welcome thank you, he his doing a nice job tiding up his FJ and also meet up with Harvy for a quick chat. The bike ran like a dream, it's a long time since i have done a trip like that, but bloody oath i had fun, FJ's just eat the miles so easy i love them. I did about 850 kms day 1, 650 day 2 and 550 to get to Brissie and it did it just so easy. The return trip was interesting with pretty severe head wind on the second day - it knocked 70 kms of the mileage out of 1 tank, i thought something was wrong with the bike at first but the next day was back to normal. Called in at Bathurst on the way home and did a couple of laps around Mt Panorama - if any of you get near there go out of the way and do a lap or 2, you will be happy you did. I also diverted so i could go over the Black Spur (1 of my old haunts) have any of you had the pleasure of that piece of road. I have travelled all around Australia and I seriously think that is the best set of windies in Australia. Anyway back in Tassie now and back to work (bugger). Maybe one day all us Aussies FJers should meet up some where and do a bit of a trip - just an idea.
Bye for now   Colin

Our pleasure Col, it was great to meet you.

So if we did do an aussie FJ trip, I guess Sydney would be out of the question  :rofl2:

It was great to meet Colin and spend some time talking FJ.
Colin's hometown  in Tasmania sounds like a beautiful place and I will be sure to look him up next Tassie holiday!
(On my FJ I hope!!!)
