has a pretty good article on the fj 1100 1200 and xjr1300 engines ( and bikes of course) its an english mag so im a month behind in australia but still pretty interesting... nice little quote for when dealing with spare parts monkeys..." its a shorter list to look at what doesnt swop over from the xjr to the fj.... " gives it a pretty good rap but is just re iterating the fact that you guys are on the money with the *ahem* modifications ( heathens!!) that you all do. was a bit cringin when he mentioned he picked up an xj rear wheel for 8 ounds and a set of front genesis forks for 100 quid. o well .

Yes,a decent article.... and I learnt long ago that if you haven't got a part number for engine bits it's better to ask dealers if they've got such-and-such for an XJR. Got a camchain tensioner and rear guide "for an XJR",went straight in.  A dodgy alternator was replaced (via eBay) by an XJR item a few years back. Didn't bother doing any research to see if it would suit. FJ's have the rounded, shiny cover,XJR's have flat, black ones. Otherwise, they're the same and go straight on. A SS exhaust collector and can "for an XJR" were purchased recently, and nowhere in the item description was 'FJ' mentioned. No matter - that went straight on too. Just three examples of several there...
