windscreen attachment thread renovation

Hi Guys,

I received my Eagle "windlip" windscreen today and am totally tickled with it. Beautiful craftsmanship, a perfect fit, and it looks great on the bike.
But... When I took the old screen off four of the plastic retaining screws were doing nothing but sitting in their holes.  The threads on the screws were fine but the plastic holes they screw into were threadless.
I'm wondering what you have done to correct this.  Is there a commonly available plastic screw with a bit bigger diameter that the mounting holes can be tapped to, something that can be used to fill the holes so they can be re-threaded or what?  I wish I had looked more closely when mounting the screen since I vaguely recall that the mounting holes might be in a replacable insert in the fairing, but I was so excited about getting it on that I didn't look closely and am reluctant to take the screen off now to check, since the screws that are OK are barely OK.
Thanks in advance for any ideas and/or proven solutions.

Cheers,

Jay

Jay, I replaced mine with stainless screws with plastic washers under them.........as for the threads in the holes.....maybe .5 mm bigger screws will cut new threads?

If you are talking about the rubber plugs with the threaded insert, they are called 'wellnuts'.

If you are in the US, you can find them at Ace Hardware for a lot less than OEM.
