Rear brake Caliper Bracket

Re: 17" rear wheel conversion (FZ1000) - I have had the rear hub/cush drive assembly machined as per the specifications noted in the article provided. However, I will be using a stock rear brake caliper bracket - what are the specs for proper machining of the bracket?  Any help would be much appreciated...!

Mike,

install the wheel with the fz spacer and measure the gap between the spacer and the swing arm . allow .025 clearance for install space and remove material from the  swingarm side of the brake caliper spacer.

I just did this conversion.......I used an FZR1000 rear wheel........I used the specs in the article on the cushdrive side, and my stock rear caliper bracket needed 11mm machined off to fit right in the swingarm.......but make sure you measure before having yours machined......I have heard people needing 10mm, and one needing 10.5mm........mine needed exactly 11.

As Mark said.........make sure all the machining done to the caliper bracket comes off of the side that contacts the swingarm.
You must maintain the factory spacing on the wheel side for the caliper to line up with the rotor properly....
I re-used the 2 outer FJ wheel spacers untouched.(the one that goes between the cushdrive and the swingarm on the left, and the one that goes between the wheel and the caliper bracket on the right.)
I used the stock FJ rotor(bolts right up to the FZR1000 wheel.........although I just received my new Galfer wave rotor and pads for the rear)
