86' 1200. Got new carbs and was putting them on when I got stumped by whatever this is. What is it, is it important, and how does it go back on?
I took it off my old carbs but I can't remember for the life of me how it went together. It's an 86' Cali

I believe that's part of the evap system, I don't think you need it. Put it aside and keep going.

Tobin,

I covered this question in my reply to your email.

That is the bowl solenoid. It doesn't allow the bowls to vent when the bike is shut off. The hoses hook to the white plastic tees between carbs 1/2 & 3/4.

You can either use it as designed or most people remove the solenoid so the bowls are always vented.
