Hello all.  I wanted to introduce myself.  I have a 1985 FJ which is all original. I'm the second owner - bought her with 2000 miles on the odometer.  I now have an amazing 17,500.  O.K. maybe I need to ride more often.  I bought the bike 18 years ago (right before I got married - see I was thinking....) and have kept it garaged ever since.  The seat still has the original cover.  Me and two of my buddies went to Sturgis last year and I had more people talk to me about the FJ than their road bikes!  Classic! We are heading to Burning Man in Nevada this August in the RV with a trailer in tow that includes the FJ and a couple other bikes. Should be fun.

Welcome Todd, in the summer months, you have some of the nicest scenic highways available to you in Colorado.
Several years ago we had a great time at a FJ rally in Gunnison. Bitchen rides, all of them.
Also, you have a great resource in your neighborhood, a long time FJ'er in Denver, Lee Carkenord, who has a '84 1100 with about a Kazzilion miles on his odo. (IIRC last check he is over 250k)
Lee is also on the Yahoo FJ forum, goes by fj1098.

You know those highway signs you see entering your state? "Entering Colorful Colorado"
A motorcycle ride in the fall with all the Aspens turning yellow/red/gold, shows that it's very accurate statement.

Welcome again and Cheers!   Pat

 Hi there Todd,
Welcome to the forum! I also get folks who check out my bike and tell me stories about FJ's of the past, just like when I drive my '65 Mustang. Most enjoy seeing a nice older bike that can put the hurt on these new transformer lookin' things. I hope we can inspire you to ride more often, or even just enjoy the time you do more. These guys have significantly steepened my learning curve on FJ's, much preferred to figuring everything out yourself the hard way!

Welcome Todd!

Back when you bought the FJ, you wouldn't have been a member of the MRA would you?  And sold an RZ350 around that same time too?

Colorado is a great place for an FJ.  Live more - ride more - kookaloo more!

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Doug - got your message.  I live in Littleton near C-470 and Wads.  I own a store in Bennett which is about 50 miles east.  I take Arapahoe Rd. to Aurora Pkwy to Quincy.  Beautiful ride and no I-70.  Come along sometime.

Chris - nope - not in the MRA.  The guy I bought it from lived in the Applewood area - was that you?

I know I can search but I'll ask the question just in case anyone knows the specific link or an answer.  My gas gauge has "flipped" over so it now points to the lower right.  How do I get it back to point between the E and FULL?

Thanks again.

Todd

Todd - No, not me.  I was wondering if you were the one I had purchased the RZ from.  Enjoy the ride!
