Chin spoiler insulation

Group,

I picked up a chin spoiler that is all in one piece, unlike mine. The insulation is soaked in oil, and I am going to put a layer of fiberglass cloth on the inside of the R/R mount area. It has one small crack that I will repair with the ABS repair kit I have. The cloth is meant to be a strengthener and will be attached using West Marine epoxy. I want to remove all of the old insulation, scrub it good and clean with denatured alcohol and apply new. What have people used for the insulation and more important adhesive? Weldwood?

G'day Daniel,

I've lined mine with a heat shield which just sticks down after you've cleaned the "spoiler", it's been like that with no problems for at least 6yrs.

Dei tunnel shield would work very well there. We use that on a lot of srutf

Robert,

Looks like the DEI has an adhesive on one side, correct? Seems to hold up well? Remember its in the elements as well as possible oil drips.

Thanks gents,

Yes, it is self adhesive on one side and the other side is aluminum. They make other soft ones as well but I have not used those. We use the aluminum tunnel shield on the race cars and some hot rods we have done. It holds up very well.
