Pouring Gas

A continuation of Re: Stuck Choke Plungers. I had recently clean the carbs are replaced seals in addition to getting new choke plungers and sanding the hole so it can move. I went to start it off a bottle and it did start quickly but the number 4 starter air house (I believe thats what its called) began dumping all the fuel. In addition to the 4 overflow and 1 starter hose, although slightly. I blew through all hoses and tapped to ensure nothing was stuck. Gas dumps from the 4 starter hose simply when gas is added, Whether choke is on or not. Seems similar to the problem described under Maintenance Files, where gas was being siphoned through the air hose add a hole needed to be drilled. Not sure though.

Terminology is important. You have 3 hoses to your carbs 1) Fuel hose 2) Fuel bowl vent hose (big hose) 3) Choke vent hose (small hose)
You can any of the following problems:
1) Your float is stuck open. a) Take a soft hammer and give the float bowl a couple of sharp taps b) Take the float bowl off and wiggle the float up and down.
2) There is debris holding the float needle off the needle seat allowing gas to free flow. Use compressed air to see if you can clear out any crud. Is your gas tank rusty? Do you have the petcock screen installed?
3) Your float needle seat o ring was damaged when installed. (assuming you replaced all with new o rings)
4) Your float sinks due to the float filling up with gas. Hold the float under water see if air bubbles out.
5) Is your float level set correctly?  Check the actual float bowl fluid level (different than the float level measurement)
