So, this wasn't today, or yesterday........ but it was recent  :sarcastic:

I spent 2 days at the annual Sywell Classic meeting, with my FJ on display with the VJMC on the Sunday and the Fazer 1000 (FZ1) on display on the Saturday.

There were massive crowds over both days, although with it raining on the Sunday and their being quite a bit of cloud cover, the air displays were all low level and tame compared to Saturday (where we had clear blue skies and fantastic visibility).

The air displays included dog-fights between WW1 Fokker Triplanes and Sopwith Camels, some brilliant aerobatics and exhibitions from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (Lancaster, Hurricane & Spitfire), even the James Bond Gyrocopter Little Nell, was there.

There were fantastic cars on show and in action, with everything from early century runabouts to classic F1 and Indy Cars, Top Fuel dragsters and a host of Rally cars - there was one Mercedes F1 that cost £10,000 per run on the track and they did about 20 runs over the whole weekend......these guys were serious about showing that these old cars can really go !!!!!

Bikes were well represented too with ex Grand Prix two strokes of all sizes being run on track, as well as vintage Grand Prix machines from the 1920's through to the 1960's. Some later model bikes also running on track were some Ex WSB machines and a number of British Championship race bikes from right up to the mid 90's.

The VJMC displayed more than 100 bikes over the 2 days and there were some really top quality machines on show.

All in all a brilliant weekend for me and my friends.

Nice!  Love to see the Lancaster flying!  And the WWI era aircraft!

Did anyone sneak in a rotary!?   :sarcastic:

Millietant

There were 3 Mazda RX7's, all Rotary's, if they count, but no Rotary bikes.

I was at the Stafford Classic Mechanics Bike Show last weekend and there were a couple of really nice RE 5's there.   :good2:
