BARN FIND! INDIAN CHIEF!!!

My son Mason, 16, has expressed a renewed interest in learning to ride (after looping my
trials bike a few years ago and vowing never to get on a motorcycle again). Today, I found him a bike.

Indian Chief. FREE! Unsure of the year, but it's in surprisingly good condition.

Flathead v-twin, skirted fenders, Indian-head ornament...all original. The bad: Battery is dead. No brakes. Tires are hard, almost like plastic. Clutch and front brake lever seem to be fused in place. Extremely low seat height and nearly no ground clearance. Guages don't work, probably because all the numbers and needles are painted on. It's got lights, though...and reverse gear!

Actually, it wasn't a "barn find" per se; it was a "pile of junk at the end of the driveway awaiting pick-up" find. My father found it and thought that I might think it was cool (and I do). Like, use it for a display piece or something. It is actually a fair representation of a Chief.

Here she is with her new owner, clearly not an ATGATT kind of guy despite what he's been taught (note the Jesus boots...). Sorry I couldn't get the pics to embed properly, but here's the links:
