I have an 86 FJ1200 that I purchased and it has a SoundOff rear light system where the turn signals will come on and flash with the brake light, but has never worked right so I was going to remove it. Does anyone have a wiring schematic so I can reverse the install? I contacted the company but they said it was to old and they don't have it anymore.

My best suggestion is to buy a Haynes Maintenance Manual that has the 'Color' wiring diagrams. It has wire diagrams for all of the FJ models.

Thanks for the suggestion. That was my plan B, I was going to try to reverse engineer it :)

You should be able to trace wires back from blinkers and stop light for colours then just reconnect after removing module .

The Yamaha FJ1100/1200 Owners Manual's have the color coded wiring diagram at the back of each book...

If you don't have an Owners Manual you need one. Lots of good stuff inside.

3) Replace your old stock rubber brake lines.

I have my Haynes manual and will be working on it tomorrow. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

The biggest problem is there is no consistory. Who ever installed it used multiple colored wires and went into the wiring harness, having to un-tape lots. That's why I was looking for the wiring diagram from the product to try to make it easier.  Oh well, off to probe with the old VOM...  :yahoo:

Thanks for all of the suggestions, finished removal. There were some wires that had 3 spices and 4 different colored wires and the original out of the wire harness about 2" long.

Good job!

Electrical work (especially if someone else has mucked with it!) is all about patience, persistence, and attention to detail  :drinks:
