Hey folks, I'm doing a LED retrofit on my '89 and it seems all the new LED bulbs have a cooling fan.
Here's what I'm using:

Question for the collective: Is there or has there been any problem introducing dust into the headlight housing with these LED cooling fans?

Thanks folks

Pat

Had the same one, never noticed any problems with dust and just checked looking through front lense and didn't notice any.

I'm assuming that the fan is extracting heat thus pulling dust outwards and away from headlight and I don't live near a desert
It blew a LED after about 4-5 yrs which sounds a lot but when you look at hrs ON. Fan was still operating afterwards.

Great light output but you do have to set your headlight to aim to lowest point it can but there is still light spill into oncoming vehicles, which is a good thing in daylight hours.

Appreciate that Allen.   I did a smoke test and saw that the LED cooling fan drew air in from the back and sent it down the tube over the LED's. On the rubber boot sealing the headlight capsule there is a relief vent at the top of the boot, so that's where the air is exiting the chamber.
Good to know on the adjusting the aim....thanks amigo!

This is the LED headlight I'm using. So far I've found it great, but I've not used it on mid-winter night yet.
