Experience with YSS Rear Shocks?

Will be needing a new rear shock for my FJ1200 winter project. I have read where several people have recommended The RPM rear shock.  While I 'm sure this is a really nice piece, it seems to me to be a little illogical to put a $1000 rear shock on a $2000 motorcycle.   On my last 2 rescues I have used a YSS shock and have been impressed with the performance and quality.  Before I pull the trigger here I was wondering if anybody has any experience with these on a FJ?

I've no experience of the YSS shock, but I have a Hagon on my FJ and know many who have the same and love them. They're about the same price as YSS and judging from comments from a couple of US based FJ Owners, their service to the USA is great.

But, the UK FJ Owners Club recommend & sell both the YSS and the Hagon - they've lots of happy customers for both.

The RPM shock it's undoubtedly a league above these two and if I was going to do lots of track riding it would be on my list of upgrades ?

Having tested both shock in various FJ, I prefer YSS without doubt . Don´t miss to buy it with variable length

Good point, I agree with Alf. ^^^ Variable length shock is important for rear height adjustment, especially on the '84-87 FJ's that don't have the dog bones you can adjust.

I installed a YSS shock on my 95 FJ. The one that I chose was a lower end model. Adjustments for spring preload and rebound dampening only.
I found that the shock worked very well after a few adjustments to the rebound dampening
