Hi all i was hoping for some help i have a basket case 88 fj1200 that i bought for pennys was running although quite rough i have sent the carbs out to be cleaned but i want to revert the fueling back to standard as someone had converted it to a gravity feed tank. Ihave already bought a pump petcock fuelfilter and most of the fuel lines but was wondering what size fuel line do i need going from the pump to petcock as you can no longer get it new aslo what size clips for it

The fuel pump models have a smaller needle and seat, you will need to replace those with the correct sets for the fuel pump model.  The Yamaha part number listed is 3CF-14107-15-00 but you should be able to find them cheaper elsewhere such as http://www.rpmracingca.com/proddetail.asp?prod=3CF-14107-15

I recently added a fuel pump to my 89 and I used 5/16 (~8mm) fuel line because its what I had laying around and it seems to work just fine.

Out of curiosity, what fuel pump did you go with?

5/16?

The bike is metric. Gravity fuel lines are 10mm and pumped (I think) is 6mm. That is internal diameter. The line(s) may have a different wall thickness.  So pick a clamp that will compress the line you have.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

1/4 inch X 25.4 = 6.35mm. Seems legit...

Don't forget, RPM is the only place you can still get the genuine Yamaha fuel pump.

Once these are gone, there are no more...
