my head light isn't working on both low and high beam. I looked in the service manual I have and according to it, the secondary fuse panel is in the left hand side of the  cowl..it shows the fuse block behind a panel held on with 1 screw..
I don't see that on my bike.
Can someone help a guy out so I don't have to tear the bike apart to find it.

well not sure who wrote the service manual I have but they were way off on the fuse panel location. The 1 fuse panel is under the seat..
fuse was okay so I hoped for the best and took the bulb out..what a fun job that is...
hi and low were both burned out..
I can't say for sure if they both blew at the same time or one was burned out all along. I don't ride at night and none of the folks I ride with mentioned my low beam not working so I'm going to assume the high beam was burned out before and the low beam finally went.
Got an led one on it's way.

The fuse panel for the 84 & 85 FJ1100's are on the left side of the fairing underneath a small cover with one screw holding it .  .

my manual (digital if that makes a difference) said that is where it is on an 86 1200 too.
