Has anybody run the Dunlop Sportmax IIIs in the 17" size on updated wheels? Thinking about new rubber this year.

Q3's?  Yes, I run take-offs from my coaching track bike on my street bikes.  Front tires mostly as the rear tires are usually too roasted.  No problems with them but they aren't great rain tires.  They work OK.  I have plenty of spares so I usually trash them well before they are totally done.

Thank you.

Rain isn't the issue it once was for me, I hop in the truck if it looks like rain. I am almost exactly what my insurance company calls me, a "pleasure use only" rider. At 61, I'm OK with that.

Might the use the examples you have run, ie, being run, hard, on a track, lead to the conclusion they aren't really a wet tire standout? Even if I was caught in the rain, I'd be scampering home, and doing my best impression of a law abiding and extra safe rider.
