Hello folks,

Got my first FJ about four months ago. It's a 1991 3XW, standard bike. Runs well. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions. Been riding bikes for over 50 years, mainly old BMW airheads and Moto Guzzi's. Never owned an FJ, never owned an inline four, haven't had a chain driven bike for many years. Looking forward to getting to know it. All the best Bob

Motofun

Hi Bob, welcome to the addiction.  Quite a few of us around here that have lots of experience and history with the various FJ's.  Don't be shy with any questions, ask away.

Thanks again folks. I'm near Falkirk in Central Scotland. Al the best. It seems like a great group of people here

Welcome Bob!

Chains, like tires and brake pads, are a consumable. FJ's *do not* like cheap chains.

Cheers.  Pat

Welcome in Bob, from another UK member. I think you'll find the FJ a big culture shock after the airheads and the Guzzi.

One of my best pals has a R60/5, a R100/7, a R1100GS and a V9 Guzzi. I had a great day out with him last year riding the airheads, but what a difference from my 3CV 1200. Chalk and cheese in the extreme, but all great at different things and for different reasons. After riding FJ's for 36 years I'm just to set in my ways.

I've also made my FJ very much my own bike, like many others here and I'm sure you'll grow to love yours and get the "moditis" bug.

When you do, remember that we're all here to help  :good2:

Many thanks Millietant. Yep the FJ is a very different bike from what I'm used to but really looking forward to getting out on it more and doing some decent miles on it.

Cheers

Bob
