Arnie

Ned,

Are you talking about the "animal doctors" who charge like motorcycle dealers?

Nah, I know you're talking about those who have been part of the armed forces.

How's your recovery going?

Cheers,
Arnie

Ned

Arnie - you know I mean the ol' boys. This will be the first year my dad won't be marching since he died last year aged 86. I found out that for the last 3 years of the war he was transferred out of RAF bomber command to coastal command RAAF 461 Sqn on Sunderlands. He gets a mention in a book by his captain "Simpson's War" which I'm trying to find a copy of. They were and still are AFAIK the only crew to successfully land a Sunderland on the ground not water as they got a gaping hole in the hull during a rescue op.

The legs just about right - as noted earlier Me and Mrs Ned are off on a "Big Adventure" We were leaving late last week but a change in plans has meant another 2 sleeps before our departure for places north - incl Bologna where I will be "allowed" to visit the Ducati factory and museum (It's free and therefore a must do). I'll be away for 3 months and the then looking for some work somewhere in the world as we both have leave for 12 months. Original Plan "A" crushed by the recession as my contract opportunity in Japan faded to nothing and the kid's inheritance will soon disappear.

I will be checking in from time to time. The FJ is in mothballs until I get back. Nearly 8 months since I last rode it. This is the longest I have gone without a bike ride since I was 15! 41 years. Symptoms include dull ache in left hand chest cavity, twitching in the right hand and wrist, eyes darting around at the sound of approaching motorcycles, salivating at the appearance of bikes on winding country roads etc.... :wacko3:

Will catch up soon
