That is great news! One of us could still out bid you and get all the attached goodies....

Mark,

Fortunately for me...... I have a friend that has told me, "if you really want the bike, I will cover whatever it takes to be the winning bidder".  :blum1:

I still have a serious concern that Geico will come and take the bike. My greatest fear is, if they retrieve the FJ that they will then scap it without removing the premium parts.

Unless the claims adjuster has a brother-in-law that is looking for a parts bike, I don't see that happening, Fred. They are interested in the proceeds from the auction (cash) to offset as much of the insurance payout as possible. Scrap value will be negligible.
They know that.
I'd almost bet you will be the only one bidding.
Good luck.

It was hard not bidding, but knowing Fred was a buyer that made it easy.

Steve, thank you for not bidding.  :drinks:

Yes, I was able to win the auction for my Stolen FJ1300. $210.00 winning bid.

So far, I have put power to the Speed Hut gauges. They seem to work. The battery is toast, will not take a charge. I pulled the spark plugs, sprayed a bit of PB Blaster in each hole.. I put it in 5th gear and was able to turn the engine with the back tire. I disconnected the starter cable from the solenoid and gave it 12 volts. The starter engages and spins the engine with no odd noises, grinding or crunching sounds.  :yahoo: :dance2: :yahoo: The shock sock that comes standard with the RPM shock did it's job keeping the filth out of the shock.

Next course is to pull the engine on Casper and the 89. The 1300cc motor will go into Casper. Sean Morley of Morley's Muscle says he can repair the broken slave cylinder boss. While that is being dealt with, I will be stripping the bike down to the frame for powder coating.

As it turns out, this whole episode has worked out in your favour. :good2:

That bike as quite a few goodies on it. Sucks it was stolen/trashed. I am sure all the parts will be distributed to your current lineup.

Fred,
Great recovery, mate!  How to make lemons into lemonade!
Good way to go, there.

P.S. Life is too short, and health is too valuable, to ride on cheap parade-duty tires.

The engine will be put into Casper (1990). The rest of the 1989 will be rebuilt as a Streetfighter. Something like this... with Hi-Viz Yellow Wheels.
