Plastic welding of the fairings

Hi guys !

I am starting to work in the plastic welding world from now on. Can anyone tell me for sure the material of the FJ fairings ? I heard that its made from ABS plastic. Anyone to prove it ?

I also hot air weld my FJ plastic and use ABS filler rod. I have also used ABS glue for some repairs. If it is not ABS, then it sure acts like it.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

I will first try it on one of my spare broken 1TX fairings. Ill see how ABS melts, i only done PE and PP 'til now.

It is absolutely ABS.
Some of the fairing parts have ABS identifiers, most don't.
1984 FJ1100 Ms Effie brand new :)
1984 FJ1100 Pearlie, stock as.
1985 FJ1100 Mr Effie 647,000K and still running hard.
1985 FJ1200 'Yummy' takes a licking & keeps on ticking
2013 Trumpy Tiger 800, let's do another lap of Oz
