This is a pretty wimpy trip compared to what you guys are doing and posting.  I hadn't done a long ride since marriage and then having kids ultimately had me stop riding for a long time. My son wanted a long trip, and my wife wanted to meet her parents at Pettibone Park in Lacrosse WI.  First picture is before departure.

Here I've overfilled the tank so I could flush out the tank vent. I did this a couple of times just to be sure.

Today was my third and fourth time crossing the Mississippi by motorcycle.

The V30 Magna was not a good match for the FJ range, but for a first long trip extra stops are good anyway. It was about 440 miles and 6 hours of riding there and back.  Adam had to downshift from 6th going up some of the hills to keep up with the headwind we had.

I had a low of 37 MPG and a high of almost 43.

Edit: I need to fill in Wisconsin and Minnesota on my states ridden map.
