the fuel gauge again

Guys,

I took the fuel gauge off the bike to refill it with silicone oil but once the metal cap off I found the core of the gauge surrounded by copper wire probably to create a magnetic field to move the needle.
My question is, how do I put the silicone oil in it? there is no visible part under the copper to drill and to inject !!

Carefully spread the windings apart at the top of the gauge (find a narrow spot).  Beneath them is a plastic housing where the damping fluid goes.  Make a small hole at the top of the housing, fill with the oil.  Then use some silicone sealant to seal up the hole.

Finished the job at 2 in the morning, took off the fairing twice... seems to work good but I can't try it on the road  IT'S F$%&* SNOWING!!!!!

hey! it's me again

the fuel gauge works well, no jumping around. the only problem, I probably over did it with the oil so I have some appearing on the dial. It's better than a jumping needle!!!
