I should also admit 'all the gear and no idea'....
1984 FJ1100 Ms Effie brand new :)
1984 FJ1100 Pearlie, stock as.
1985 FJ1100 Mr Effie 647,000K and still running hard.
1985 FJ1200 'Yummy' takes a licking & keeps on ticking
2013 Trumpy Tiger 800, let's do another lap of Oz

After all is said and done, more is said than done :)

Ok, thought I'd re-touch this old thread.......

F-ing brilliant!

Here is the trial.

Wainot Phil bought one over with a bank of XJR 1300 carbs to check on one of my girls. It worked well and to specs.

All good mate ,  It was fun to get that Bike going ,It sounds sweet,,,,,,
Its good to see that your ColorTune has arrived so soon ,,
As you have found out ,  These ColorTune  mixture setting   fan dangles  are just the  Bees Nees ,, (Bloody Great)
I have had the same great results with both my FJ Bikes as you have had ,,
Its just AMAZING how smooth the  old  FJ1200  pulls and runs   ,after  you set your mixtures with the Colortune  ,,
I still am amazed every time I go for a Ride how SMOOTH both my Bike go,,,,,, The Difference the ColorTune  makes is   Amazing,,,,

Thanks mate.
Just discovered my petcock is leaking. Seals gone and the filter was missing too so I've got another one on order. When that and the forks are sorted I'll come up to the big smoke and catch up with you.
Shouldn't be more than a week or so to get it all done. Don't like riding with fuel dripping down the side of the bike though. Makes me a tad nervous!
I must say that it will be great to catch up with you. It will also be great once I'm married, have a proper shed and don't have to work out the front of the house all the time!

Warm regards

Richard
Poor Richard. Has not been heard from on this forum since Sep 2013. I guess he did get married and dripping gas was not the only thing that should have made him a tad nervous. My guess he now has no time to work on the bike or she made him sell it.    :hang1:

A pistol is like a parachute, if you need one and don't have one you will never need one again.

It literally took me 1 beer to do two bikes. It was so quick I cleaned the pool after and SWMBO thought I spent the whole time fighting the Green Beastie she suggested I relax and muck around with my bikes  (I did)

Drink faster, work slower. Just a suggestion.  :drinks:

I might have to give mine a go then but
I'll have 2 beers while I do 1 bike

Hey guys, question about the colortune system. Mike here near me bought a system, and we tried it on our bikes. It worked like a charm, except for some reason, at idle, we simply cannot see the spark. When revving, the spark is clear as day. But idling, not even a little bit of spark can be seen. Has anyone else had this issue?

I always heard you have to do it at night with no light to see the flame color at idle.

I just use the "throttle blip" method.  Works every time.
