Welcome as always!  I like reading this build and seeing your skills put to excellent use in the shop.  I think I like this build because it retains the character of the FJ while molding it to fit your personality.

Best wishes for you and hope you can whittle out some progress!

Good to hear from you Russ.  Watching your build (and others) is great motivation for me. Something I am usually in dire need of.  Keep up the amazing work your doing.   :good2:

Hi to all just got a set of the later 5 spoke R1 wheels so the wheels on the bike might be for sale, I say might as I am torn between the 3 spokes and the 5  :scratch_one-s_head: The 3 spoke does have more of the original FJ12 look to them but the 5's just the bit more modern. To be honest I am leaning towards the 3 spoke just because of the original look to them but having seen the 5's on a FJ12 they do look good. :dash2:  :wacko2: Any thoughts from anyone?    Russ

ps be quick my head is starting to hurt.

Put them on a scale (I'm curious)...and go with the lightest wheels (which is going to the the newer 5 spoke wheels)

OK so a few years on and not much has happened due to an unbelievable amount of crap going on, have bought the Ducati but apart from that nothing. Did I say I sold the FJ1100? well, I did and then bought it back! I have to finish this FJ12 I really want to see on on the road. I do have some spares if anyone is interested like the 3 spokes as I think I will be using the 5 spokes, will have to see.  As soon as I get my backside moving I will post some photos.  Thanks all

Good to see you post again Russ, some pics would be good when you think they would be interesting.

Are you looking to focus on the 11 or the 12 first?

Really like the 12 project!

Russfjr1

OK so nothing done to the bike (or any bike) for god knows how long all down to bad health ... So  I am selling everything the FJR1EXUP complete with everything in the photos, have a read you might be interested, the FJ11 I have (stock) this comes with other parts as well including fairing infill panels, a Ducati ST2 with panniers, heated grips and other things. Ducati 600m chopped but not much else done, very early stages of making a chopper or you could get another frame and swingarm and put it back to standard. Any interest give me a shout, it will all be going on eBay sometime soon.

Whilst in lockdown I have come to realise if I am not able to get my arse in gear now I never will and with my spine problems chances are I will not ride a bike again so it's all going to go.

That's sad to hear Russ. Your work is inspiring.  But your health is always #1.  Good luck and take care.   :drinks:

Well 7 years on from the start of this project and still not complete thanks to health problems and now divorce so it's all up for grabs, the FJ1100 as well.
Very sad times but it is what it is.
