Yeah, Wow - that bike is so close to being amazing it's a shame they didn't finish it off properly (which has sort of ruined it for me).

The idea is spot on (although I normally gravitate to a more standard look) maybe it's the Gulf-type livery that resonates with me, or the clever use of the fairing scoops without the fairing, but the finishing touches are just not right - the bottom of the tank, the frame forward of the headstock, the ripples and finish of the undertray up near the rear lights.......they just drive me crazy.

I reckon these guys have got a lot of talent, but just need to put a little more thought into the final touches - I look forward to seeing how the bikes progress.  :good2:

I agree, after a closer look. They've left all the best mods undone... it still has the stock front and rear wheels. Factory shock, factory forks. It has the ABS sensor in front, but no ABS guts, and no braided steel lines... Got a lot of potential tho...

Tuned forks

There's a lot of streetfighters roaming around the City.  This one reminds me of a Ducati Monster.  Good look with that color scheme.  One of the only FJ stripped down bikes that I like the look of.

Yeah, I think it would be sweet with the GSXR/FZR wheel mods and the RPM Shock/Fork Valves, and ABS delete/Blue Dot upgrade.

Yes, I agree Rick. Lots of potential but not quite there yet.
Something I can't figure out, if it's a '91, why is there an ABS front rim on the bike?
Didn't Yamaha introduce ABS as an option starting in '92?
Perhaps other markets, like the Philippines, got the ABS on the '91 models? :unknown:

So what exactly is the Galfer brake system?
It certainly isn't the brake lines, EBC pads or the oem calipers shown.
The stickers look cool 'thou.....(not)

Yea, the details are missing. The devil's in the details.

Here's a bike I've always liked:

True, this is more of an XJ (w/custom frame) than a FJ, and those pipes have to be loud as hell...still...I wonder how they fit the battery in the tail cowl? I've heard those Lithium batteries can be small, but sheesh....

Speaking of details, I spotted a mistake on this bike. Anyone else spot it?

Very nice Cafe Race example Pat......

Would the mistake you talk of be the lack of rear lighting or indicators?

Nope

Sorry, I missed posting this picture:

I assumed the little lights on the license plate were the brake lights.
