Just realise after I'd posted this (and before this edit) that there's a "What did you do with your FJ today" thread.....Doh !!!!!

As the weather was nice today and I won't have much chance later in the month, I took the FJ out for a 100 mile run around South Leicestershire and Northamptonshire this afternoon, before adding a bottle of Forte Power 1 to the fuel tank and filling up with Super Unleaded. Then I went for another little ride (about 20 miles) to run it through the system before bringing the bike home for a check over and a clean.

As we're back to the US in 10 days, and have a bit to sort out when we're there, I figured that after spending all that time refurbishing the carbs in August and getting everything running right, I wouldn't want to let crappy fuel gum everything up while we're away.

I'm actually still planning to ride it during the winter, on the nicer days, once we get home - but I'm not going to risk it in the snow and ice.

Anyway, with the bright sunshine, I couldn't resist taking another couple of pics of her before we got home (I can't believe I ever thought she looked old-fashioned !!).  :nyam1:

Wow, what a nice clean engine Dean.

I too plan to put the FJ to sleep soon.  Maybe one more month left in "sunny" Northern Calif.

LOL Joe, I re-painted it as part of the refurbishment in July/Aug, so it's only done about 2,000 miles on that paint (although about 1/2 of those miles have been done in the rain)  :-(

As we're heading back to the US on Tuesday for a few weeks, I figured I'd use what sun there was this morning and get out for a quick 100 miles, before I run out of time and winter really hits.

Great ride around Warwickshire and Northants until about 5 minutes from home when the heaven's opened and a "tropical" style storm soaked everything.....including my lovely, what was clean,  FJ  :dash2:

So nearly made it home in the dry, but it looks like I'll be doing a bit of cleaning tonight

It's amazing how that always seems to happen.  Count your blessings though.  I wouldn't be surprised if we have gotten more rain here on the East coast of the US than you folks in the UK get.  We haven't gone 3 days without  a deluge for months....now they're saying it will snow tonight.  I gave up.  Put all the bikes (well except for one) away for the winter and started tuning up the skis.

Looks like I'm in trouble then, as we're heading to New England on Tuesday - but we were there for most of Oct and had quite a few nice days. I don't have a motorbike there, but I did manage plenty of bicycling  :good2:

Driving to Indiana late next week and reckon we'll going through some snow at some point.

Drove through PA on Saturday from NY to OH, in beautiful sunny weather along I84 & I80 - beautiful scenery, even on an interstate. Came back the other way today, despite periods of heavy rain and some slush, there were plenty of breathtaking views. Can't wait to get out there when the leaves are on the trees and I can get off the Interstates......roll on 2019

WTF? Some of the best rides in NorCal are on a crisp, cool, sunny winter morning. NorCal is year-round motorcycle country!

That is the parts that haven't turned to charcoal yet.  I get your point though Rick.  We do have some cool but sunny days in winter.
