Yep, they sure are low Harvy. You must have like the bike to have bought it, so why not do the bar risers.

My son has been flying survey work all over the Outback the last couple of years. A few weeks back he came across a chopper crew and truck, and confidently marched up to the driver and asked him if he was Harvy and rode an FJ - he wasn't and he didn't.
He thinks they were replacing high vis styrene balls on power lines. Their set up was exactly as I had described yours to him Harvy.

Instead of risers, I would suggest considering a change to standard handlebars.  Risers are just too limited in positions, compared to the endless possibilities you will have with regular handlebars.  Somebody makes a simple adapter plate for the FJ, and any normal handlebars will fit, if the steel tubing is the correct size for the handlebar clamps.  If the handlebar clamps are made for 1" bars, I could see using half-shell shims, to adapt the clamps for 7/8" diameter handlebars.   I have not changed my FJ over yet, but come the winter snows, I think I will.

Hi Noel....yes mate, I got it pretty cheap and is in pretty good nick. Total different experience to the FJ.... these Genesis engines sure can rev!

Your son may have run into one of Aeropowers completion....was he in far north qld at the time?

I have retired so he will not find me out and about in the truck any more.

I may have come up with a solution for my wrists too.... as it's only my left wrist that gives me grief when operation clutch lever, rotating the lever downward a few degrees might just do the trick.
