My daughter and i participated in the annual 5 State Run. This a 300 mile poker run charity event in Guymon, Oklahoma. Way out in the Oklahoma pan handle (Cherokee Strip from the old west) during the course of the day you cover 5 states. Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and Kansas. Then return to Guymon. We had a group of 16 bikes from the Wichita area that rode together. Take it easy on the comments. Everyone but me and one other (Goldwing) was riding an American made bike. As you can see in the video, this part of the country is pretty damn flat and treeless. There was a stretch in New Mexico and far western Oklahoma that had some curvy, almost mountainous roads. Total mileage on the trip was 897 miles (1438 kilometers) over 3 days with most of it riding 2 up. My daughter rode on the back of my friend's Harley Davidson Road Glide for part of the poker run. She became the photographer. She informed me that I need to buy one as the rear seat is WAY more comfy than the FJ. I told her... it damn well better be for the $30,000.00 price tag. http://www.motorcycle.com/specs/harley-davidson/touring/2018/road-glide-reg/ultra.html

I thought the Honda Goldwings were made in America? (I did spot a couple of Beemer's in the mix)

Fun times Fred and for a good cause. Good for you.
What needle settings did you start out with that needed to change?
Did your daughter get her Honda Rebel?

I did a valve adjustment last week before the ride. Removed the spark plugs and they looked a bit light colored, so I moved the clip down one notch. Here in Wichita at 1330 ft elevation, the setting was hovering just about too rich. Once we got to Guymon at 3100 ft, the bike was loading up and stumbling all over itself. Moved the clip back to the original setting and all was good. Saturday, we rode through Clayton, NM at 5000 ft elevation. I could have gone up another position on the needle and would have been ok.

She doesn't have the Rebel yet... Hopefully soon.
