Hi there
I have a issue while on road if engine stops or stalls somehow, then it's not run again unless I take to neutral. It's 1990 Fj1200 but I rebuild it to custom caferacer. I think I miss something about wires.
All sidestand sw neutral sw works but not sure about clutch switch. Maybe it needs a diode between those switches. I can't figure out right now,. Any idea?

tderida,
The symptom sounds like the clutch safety switch, on the underside of the master cylinder, may be defective.

On a stock bike, both brake and clutch master cylinders have small switches (attached by a screw), that opens or closes in relation to the position of the handle. The clutch switch only has two wires, and the switch itself can be removed, tested, and replaced very easily. With the clutch handle in its "resting" state, the switch will be "open", with no continuity. When the handle is pulled, engaging the clutch, the switch becomes "closed", and current will flow through it. The switch operation can be tested with a electric multimeter.

Put the bike on the center stand, so the rear wheel is not touching the ground. Connect the two wires leading to the clutch switch with a jumper, select a gear, turn on the ignition, and attempt to start the bike. If the engine turns over, you've found your culprit. Replace that switch, and enjoy a ride.

Hope this helps.
