Shock Linkage Woes

While I have my carbs and air box out I thought I'd fit a new shock, it seemed the right thing to do while I had so much space to work with



Maybe I should have just left well enough alone, it did take a bit of penetrating spray and a lump hammer (normal one wouldn't budge it) to move it
I'd say I need new linkage seeing those nylon bushes are not available any more

   Alan, measure and make up a line drawing of the bushes you need, find a local engineering shop and have them make them for you.
I did that about 6 years ago and mine are still going strong. The machine shop should know the best nylon type to use, some of them will outlast most types of metal. From memory, I think I had 10 made and cost me around $30.

You had 10 made? Got a spare 2?

I'll give it a try Pete, those bushes are quite tight in there, I'll knock them out tomorrow
I'll probably take the whole linkage out and check others out also.
Just have to get another pivot also.
I didn't see any o-rings on either side of those bushes unless they were jambed on the outside.

Anyone have the dimensions of the bushings? I have a contact with a company that supplies Fox suspension. They also supply us with metal backed and composite bearings.

The local hardware store stocks metric bronze bushings.  You could also get a local to turn some on a lathe from a blank too.  They can chuck nylon in the lathe as well.   I see you are in AU so Ace hardware is probably not going to work, sorry.  Check on the internet for Mcmaster-Carr.
