Stripping threads that is before the moderators pounce.
Any one got a good torque number for the spin on oil filter adapter?
Mine weeps a little from the back and I was keen to perhaps give it a twist up.
After my pre rally oil drain plug panic, l have become very wary.
Gently does it, but not too gently.

Did you torque it to the spec Randy provided when you installed it? When I did mine the torque seemed high to me but the bolt seated and zero leaks.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

:unknown: It has been about 4 years that I did my spin on oil filter adapter mod. If memory serves me correct. Along with the supplied torque figure. I believe that RPM recommends cleaning the threads and applying blue loctite to the threads for the nipple end that go in the crank case. Randy or Robert, please weigh in if I am wrong. Could it be that after a few oil filter changes that the nipple has backed out a bit???
