Rear shock removal

The top bush in the Nitron rear shock has got some play in it. Time to remove the shock, bike on the main stand, realisation sets in that the nut and bolt isn't accessible as the dog bones are in the way.
asked my mate from whom I bought the bike about this, he mentioned his huge mate lifting the back of the bike onto blocks!!!!

What is the best way to tackle this?

Bike is a 3CV if that makes any difference.

If by "Main Stand" you mean Center-Stand, then you should be able to slide a thin wood block under the back tire and simply remove the dog-bones without the swingarm dropping.
Once you remove the dog-bones, the swingarm will just pivot up and down freely.
Then you can access the lower shock bolt.

If you were referring to the Side-stand, then yes.......................you would have to somehow get the FJ up on a suitable stand to allow the swingarm to hang free, then remove the dog-bones.

Thank you Firehawk, Came out easier than I expected. Added bonus is finding the bearings in good condition. Well hopefully they are, I was tempted to remove the inner race of the bearing to take a look, but there is so much dirt down there I gave it a miss, but, the inner races slide easily.
