Quick question. What size aircraft safety wire to buy?

It seems like almost every fastener on this bike has been safety wired like an aircraft. Now I haven't worked on airplanes for about 33 years, so while I'm familiar with safety wiring bolts, and have the twist pliers, I don't seem to remember what size wire to buy.

There's nothing that needs safety wiring other than the fuel tap on the older models.

I wondered about that. Thank you. I've never seen safety wire on brake banjo bolts. But I had to cut them all off to rebuild MC and calipers.

In the USA, the most common size is .032" diameter.  Instrument size is .020" diameter, and the heavyweight is .041" diameter.  
Amazon, Wicks, and Aircraft Spruce & Specialties are a few sources.

Lots of things get safety wire on my bikes.  When people ask if I think those things might come apart,
I always answer No.

Sounds like it was a racer in it's past life.  Cool!

I have no idea of the history of this bike. It came with California plates and title but doesn't appear to be a California model. I am thankful that some PO had replaced all of the hydraulic lines with braided SS lines!
