I ordered some new grips from Rev Zilla (sorry Randy, i didnt want foam haha), and they are gettinmg delivered today. So I went out to putt my old grips and bar ends off, and my non throttle side is completely frozen. The throttle side came right off, but i cannot get the other. I think i read somewhere that the clutch side has a bolt, but not the throttle side? is that why I cant twist it off with channel locks?

Worst comes to worst, ill drill it off. But i would like to avoid that (even though i have already munched it a little bit.

Thanks,

Ryan

I used an impact air tool to get one off my '86. The shock load does wonders for corrosion stuck threads. If you don't have one then ride to an auto/bike repair location and ask if they can get it loose.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Unfortunately, my is very stripped. I'll try, but we will see. So no bolt through the center?

Alright, i got it, after 2 days of messing with this thing. Turns out, the PO completely cross threaded it, and thats why it wouldnt come off. I was only able to get it by putting a pipe wrench on it, and then taking a butane torch, heating it for about 30 seconds, and then hitting the pipe wrench with a hammer. it still took a LOT of force to take it out one it broke loose, but its out.

On a completely  unrelated note, does anyone have some spare bar ends that they would be willing to sell me? :pardon:

Thanks,

Ryan

You could get Vibranators from RPM, users have reported good things about them. RPM might also have access to new OEM ends as well.
