Neil,

Haven't heard of Ballistic, but that doesn't mean anything.  I do have previous experience with Barnett though.
I put a pack of Barnett fibre plates in my Norton Commando (long time ago), and it didn't slip any more.  However, it also was grabby and hard to free first start of the morning.  Hopeless after sitting over winter.
I would hope that Barnett has improved their product since then (mid 70's).
When I replaced my FJ clutch pack I put Yamaha OEM plates in.

Ballistic may be every bit as good or better.  Clutch technology is not rocket science, even if it feels like that sometimes :-)

Cheers,
Arnie

I used a vesrah kit in my 93 last winter. No issues, smooth no sticking and neutral is effortless. I have about 7k miles on them now in lots of stop and go traffic. Very happy.

Kopfjaeger,

Ballistics are basically a cork based lining.
So are the EBC items, but at half the cost.
What are the OEM's baed on?
But that's just the technical side.
Cheers

OEM only.

It's what professional drag racers use, it's what race teams use.  There's a reason why.. they're better than the aftermarket options.  If you want to improve clutch holding power, there's other things you can do, but start with OEM fibers and steels.
