Fairing Repair

So I fixed my leaking Clutch Master cylinder today. During the fix I noticed that the fluid had softened some of the plastic on my fairing. So now I'm looking at a repair of cracks and a couple missing panels. Has anyone ever used Plast-aid, PlastiFix or any products like it?
The web sites are making looks like I could rebuild some substantial holes and cracks.

I have no personal experience with solvent welding products but others here have had good results with Plastifix and a few other products. I think they will reply. I do have personal experience using ABS cement for pipes with poor results. The ABS cement needs to be supported/sandwiched between ABS parts. I jumped off the deep end and went straight to welding ABS with hot air. Strong as new results.

I have used plastex alot. Works great very easy. Has reusable molding bars. And is sand able

The 'Quick Bond' repair kit is also very good and strong. I have used it to make new tabs and repair cracks on fairings.

If you use any of these products. Get the reusable molding bars from plastex. Get two sets of the three bars and you should be able to fix any missing chunks in a bike fairing. If you can take a mold off a good part. You can fill in large missing chunks to the exact shape. The picture I posted is of a scoop the black part is what was missing. The pictures are in my images. I did a write-up on using the plastex here.(January 20,2015 right now it's page 34 of my posts) Don't know how to post the link. I have done the plastic welding. But plastex is way easier. Don't have to worry about messing it up. With the molding bars you can get It perfect don't have to reshape it. But you have to have a good part to take a mold from. If you bring the molding bars to a rally.... You can take a mold off the part you need in a couple of minutes. Just have to be able to heat the bars up I use a pan of water on the stove.

Will a regular fiberglass repair work on the plastic?  I have several cracks that need to be fixed in the front fender.

Regular fiberglass will not bond properly to the ABS plastic.

Plastifix is the best stuff ever. I've fixed cracks, broken tabs, even windscreens (of course you still see the repair, so I painted it black. It's a speedshield, so doesn't obstruct my view really). I've heard guys say you can melt LEGO bricks with acetone and that works too... but it still sounds jankey to me. Get a Plastifix kit. Seriously. You'll love it.
